How it works — in three moves

1

1. Reserve online

Pick 24, 48 or 72 hours and reserve. You get an instant PDF voucher by email. The voucher is valid for one year — book any time before your trip.

2

2. Collect on arrival

Swap the voucher for a physical Lisboa Card at any of the six Ask Me Lisboa counters, including the airport (Terminal 1, Arrivals) and Rossio in the city centre. Takes 90 seconds. Bring your ID.

3

3. Tap and go

From your first tap onwards, the 24/48/72-hour countdown runs. Metro gates, bus and tram validators, CP station gates — the same card unlocks all of them. At museums, show the card at the door.

What it costs

Prices are set by Turismo de Lisboa and are valid until 31 March 2027. Children up to 3 travel and enter for free — they don't need their own card.

48 hours 51 € 28 €
72 hours 62 € 35 €

Cost per day drops from €31 (24 h) to about €21 per day on the 72-hour card.

When the Lisboa Card isn't for you

Being honest saves you money. The card is a solid deal for most Lisbon visitors — but there are three profiles where a different ticket makes more sense.

Transit only, no museums

If you just need airport transfers and metro rides, a CARRIS/Metro day-pass at €7.25 beats the 24 h card. Break-even against the Lisboa Card is roughly one museum entry.

Sintra-only trip

Spending all your time in Sintra with no Lisbon sightseeing? Sintra's own combo tickets (Pena + Moorish Castle, Pena + Sintra Palace) plus the individual CP train ticket often work out cheaper than a 24 h Lisboa Card.

Short layover in Belém only

If your entire visit is 3–4 hours at Belém between flights, single tickets for Jerónimos (€18) and Belém Tower (€15) are simpler than picking up a card you'll barely use.

Belém Tower and Jerónimos: they need a timed slot.

Two of Lisbon's most popular monuments require a free timed reservation — and reservations can only be made after you've picked up your physical card. In peak season, good slots go fast. Here's what to do about it.

The five most-asked questions

Where do I pick up the physical card?
At any Ask Me Lisboa office. The most convenient counters are at the airport (Terminal 1 arrivals), Rossio (Praça dos Restauradores 84), Terreiro do Paço and Belém. Bring your GetYourGuide voucher on your phone and a photo ID. Pickup takes about 90 seconds; no queue outside of peak arrival hours.
When does the card start counting?
The countdown starts with your first Metro or bus tap, or when you first enter a museum. Not from purchase, not from pickup. So collect early, then activate when you're actually ready to sightsee.
Do I really need to reserve Belém Tower and Jerónimos?
Yes — both require a free timed reservation, made only after you've picked up your card. If your schedule is tight or you're travelling in peak season, single-entry tickets (see the reservation page) are the safer bet for those two.
Is the card worth it for me?
The 24 h card pays off if you use transport plus 2–3 free museums. The 48 h and 72 h cards make sense if you also plan a Sintra day-trip (train free) plus more monuments. Travellers who only want transport are better off with a Metro/CARRIS day-pass.
What about children?
Kids 4–15 have their own reduced-price card. Kids 0–3 travel free and don't need one. Bring ID for the reduced card at pickup.
